Metabolism-Weight-Loss
Learning about your body and understanding how your body functions can help you achieve your weight loss goals faster. This article will explain more on metabolism and weight loss.
Before diving in and explaining how metabolism works it’s important to state that having a slow metabolism rate is not the main reason people gain or lose weight. Metabolism is of course linked to the process of weight loss and weight gain but it’s important to understand that in order to lose weight we must change our lifestyle as well. Eating healthier and regular exercise is far more beneficial for weight loss.
Metabolism: How Does It Work.
Metabolism is a natural process within the body which converts food and beverages we eat and drink into energy. Energy gives the body fuel to run, kind of like a car needing gas.
The metabolism process works like this - Food and beverages we consume are converted into energy by combining the calories in them with oxygen. Energy is then burned off when your body performs activity whether it be day to day activities such as walking, moving or exercise.
But did you know your body uses energy while you rest as well? Yes certain functions of the body need to use energy to work. Things like breathing, circulation of blood, adjusting hormone levels, growth and repairing cells all need energy to operate.
Slow Metabolism and Weight Loss:
Many people blame their excess weight or weight gains on having a slow metabolism. For those who do are not properly educated on the subject as it is incorrect. Knowing metabolism is part of the process, it is not to blame for weight gain. Absorbing to many calories and not doing enough exercise or activity to burn off those calories is more to blame.
To lose weight it’s recommended we must burn more calories than we consume per day. This can only really be done by exercise and healthy eating habits. Actually by leading a healthy lifestyle with a good diet and exercise you can speed up your metabolism so it helps burn calories at a faster rate.
Fast Metabolism and Weight Loss:
Just like a slow metabolism a fast metabolism can be inherited via genetics. So yes you can either be born with a slow or a fast metabolism that maybe inherited from their family.
A faster metabolism means the body will take a lot of calories for your body to function and you can eat more than most people and not put any weight on at all.
If you have a slow metabolism there are ways you can speed up your metabolism -
* Eat breakfast daily
* Eat smaller but more regular meals throughout the day
* Don’t Skip Meals
* Exercise regularly
* Drink plenty of water
* Fat burning Supplements can help
Those are just some tips on how to increase metabolism.
If you're concerned about your weight, or your worried about your metabolism and such things related to metabolism like hypothyroidism ask your doctor for advice and maybe a check up.
